We certainly recommend spending time in the Cape Town area, then driving the lovely Garden Route and staying at our first South African campsite, Oppi Dam, which is located in a nature reserve just inland of George, Mossel Bay and Knysna, for the best of both worlds: a stay in the heart of nature and super day trips to the coast.
